Let's talk about some of the new features in the update. An oddly boring list, yet oddly fun features.

1 Upped + Reputation
See that little + at the bottom right of each post? This allows you to "Rate that post upward." It's sorta like thanking that person for their post. There is also a - right next to this post. If you didn't like what they said or disagreed with it you can do this. Sort of like how you can "Digg it" or "Bury it" on Digg. These ups and downs are totaled to create a User Reputation, found on your profile.

Nicked
This isn't actually a feature off IPB but one we decide to put in ourselves. This is a custom field where you should put the nick you use on the Freenode IRC Network. If you don't have one you can leave it blank. It's totally optional but it can help us give you support. You can find the place to edit it here.

Status
Looks like everybody has to copy the megahit social networking website, Facebook. You can now set your Tyreus "Status" on your profile.

Sidebar
Notice the Sidebar on the right side of the forum index? It'll tell you all about recently added topics, your watched content, and the top posters of the day. These can be hidden via the "X" at the top right of the sidebar.

View New Content RSS Feed
At the top right of the forum is a little RSS icon next to "View Next Content" you can add this feed to an RSS reader to keep up with the latest at Tyreus.

Private Messages
Just use them. Now your Private Messages will behave more like forums! It's really an amazing system. Try it out for yourself and have some fun.

Flash Uploader
Now you can upload multiple files at a time. To enable this feature check out your settings!

Friendly URLs
Just look at the URL of this forum. Nice, eh? Don't worry though, all the old links (index.php?showtopic=123) will still work.

Topic Searching
You can now quickly search topics! You'll find it at the bottom of a topic page.

I love so many of these new features. I think that my favorite is the friendly url's and the new private messaging system.

One thing I don't get is weren't friendly urls a feature in the old version? I thought you guys just could care less and didn't turn it on.

My favorites are the reputations and sidebar.

There was a 3rd-party modification to allow friendly URLs, but it was buggy and sporadic - not something we wanted to apply to our forums

If you like the sidebar, just give us some time - more things will start showing up there eventually.

There should be a top login again. I find it inconvenient to click sign in all the time haha. Nevertheless, I love the upgrade.

I just added a quick login plugin .

It's not exactly as nice as I'd like it to be, but it'll work for now.

Works for me, I kinda disliked the old one 'cause there were 2 login forms and it was huge.

Might be a good idea to lay it out more though, like with columns and more padding but I really like it.
