In case you didn't notice, our forums were down for the majority of today. This was due to an error with the new software, but has been resolved. Unfortunately, we lost a few posts, but we are back up and running now :) . If you made any posts that look like they've disappeared, and it affects your hosting account, let us know - we won't suspend you because of it.

One of the posts that was lost just so happened to be the announcement about the forums upgrade. As you can clearly see, our forums are VERY different! This is because we've upgraded to the latest version of the software, with hundreds of new features. Check out the bottom right corner of posts - there's a reputation system now! And, why not try sending someone a PM? You'll find that those are much better also. Oh, and look up at your address bar; like the new friendly URLs? Along with many other features! Of course, with any major software change, there are bound to be some bugs - like the one involving our forums to be offline for most of today - so, please, bear with us as we adjust to the change. While it is a very big change for all of us, we hope you'll find that it is a change for the better.

Oh, and a huge thanks (again) to xiofire, one of our moderators, for generously donating the $25 fee required for the software upgrade!

If you have any questions about the new forums, or would just like to comment on them, please refer to this forum: http://forums.tyreus...ade-discussion/ View the original post...

So long as we can keep Kevin away from the Admin controls, we should be fine. ;)

Garrett, would going to an old style url, like showtopic.php?t=5425, break the forums?
Regards,
Brad R

Thats sad. :(

I went down from about 15 posts back to 2. I'm sure I can get them back though. Congratulations of fixing your first major bug very quickly.

Honestly, I like the new url way as it makes it shorter. But, if it breaks the forums, I'd rather have the new way.

Old forum and topic URLs will just redirect to the new ones; you can use them as you like.

Har, Har. I logged into the ACP, logged out and a few ours later the forums are broke. Garrett, don't put this on me. I'm really disappointed thought that they didn't change their failing emotionicon system.

Thats really wild Kevin. About the emotionicon system, I know its not my place, but can't you add new emotionicons using the ACP? But, in general; they are pretty simple.

Of course we can add more smilies. But the system that they are using right now has its limitations.

Really? Thats odd. I don't remember such restrictions on IPB 2. I guess when you advance the software, some things have to get worse, for other things to get better. But, I'm sure you and the other staff can work around this. Honestly, once I get an account here, I will write up a testimonial for sure!

Kevin doesn't like that you can't have more than one alias for a smiley - the emoticon system is the same as it was in IPB2.

I swear there is a way to do it, though. I just don't remember how
